Kota Monden, a Doctoral Student in the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, Receives the Excellent Presentation Award

Kota Monden, a third-year doctoral student in the Science of Natural Environment Systems Course, Major in Science and Engineering for Innovation, Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, received the Excellent Presentation Award at the 2025 Meeting of the Kansai Branch of the Japanese Society of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, held on December 11, 2025, at Matsue Terrsa (Matsue City).
In his oral presentation, Mr. Monden reported findings from his research using grafting techniques, demonstrating that receptors for the phytohormone cytokinin regulate the long-distance transport of cytokinin from roots to shoots. He further clarified that this mechanism functions as an important component in the regulation of leaf growth in response to the nitrogen nutritional status of roots.
The Excellent Presentation Award is presented to outstanding oral presentations delivered by presenters under the age of 40 at this meeting.
